Dr. Andrew Goodwin

Ph.D., C.Psych.

Psychologist (Supervised Practice)

Dr. Andrew Goodwin is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), with over ten years of experience in clinical and applied psychological work. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Andrew has worked in a variety of clinical and research settings, including Holland Bloorview Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, the Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids, the Child Development Institute, the York University Psychology Clinic, and the OISE Psychology Clinic. He also provided services within the Toronto Catholic District School Board. His clinical research has focused extensively on wisdom and identity development.

Dr. Andrew’s practice is rooted in psychodynamic and relational therapy, with a strong emphasis on attachment, identity formation, and emotional healing. He works with youth, adults, parents, and individuals across neurodiverse backgrounds (e.g., ADHD, learning differences, autism spectrum). He treats a wide range of concerns including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and complex relational wounds, shame and self-esteem struggles, identity exploration and self-integration, performance-related stress in high achievers, as well as gender identity and neurodiversity-related issues. Dr. Andrew also has training in more structured therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT), which he will integrate based on the needs of each client.

His therapeutic approach blends insight-oriented and relational techniques with mindfulness, somatic awareness, and mind–body integration. Dr. Andrew supports clients in emotion regulation, grounding, self-soothing, and cultivating inner wisdom. He believes the therapeutic relationship itself can be a space of insight, healing, and personal growth; his aim is to help clients reconnect with their inner voice, integrate fragmented self-parts, build healthier relational patterns, and move toward a more grounded, authentic life.
